# Ra-Thor Whitepaper v4.2 — living cover

This file is the **public claim cover** for Ra-Thor / Rathor.ai after the July–September 2026 employ, wrap, and copy work. It does **not** rewrite the July architecture essay.

## Why v4.2 exists

v4.1 (22 July 2026) is a real architecture snapshot. It is also stale as a *living public paper*. Since July the lattice shipped a stranger employ spine, a wrap kit, a public-voice split, AG-SML v1.1 as the living grant, and a locked claim ceiling. Leaving v4.1 as the only “primary paper” asks strangers to treat SURMISE sentences as current product fact.

A 13 September council minute said: do not mint v4.2 in a *link-fix slice*. That slice is closed. This cover is the next bounded paper motion — not a new 12-section cosmology.

Architecture chapters in v4.1 (TOLC 8, Conductor v14, PATSAGi as *architecture*, Living Cosmic Tick, cascade *as research forest*) remain useful as July design notes. They are not a license to ignore the table above.

## Sentences in v4.1 that are retired as living claims

Keep the July file. Do not quote these as present tense without the cover:

1. **“AGSi demonstrated”** by sole-operator Powrush-MMO completion in ≈30–50 days. Living rule: Combined AGSi stays SURMISE. Powrush-MMO is a separate repo and is not sold as finished from this lattice.
2. **AG-SML v1.0** as the living grant. Living grant is **v1.1**. The 31 August work pack that cited v1.0 is a **draft** freeze, not the current license stamp.
3. **Workspace “14.15.x (July 2026)”** as the public identity string. Public identity is **14.15.6**.
4. **“Production-grade” self-evolution cascade** as a shipping product. Self-evolution remains research forest, not the public offer.
5. Any reading of v4.1 that implies an xAI partnership, a METR lab, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act conformance, or a hosted rathor.ai key proxy.

## What actually landed after v4.1 (the reason a cover is due)

These are inspectable artifacts, not new miracles:

- Stranger employ spine: `docs/EMPLOY.md` + `/employ.html`
- Public briefing (visitor voice): `docs/PUBLIC_EMPLOY_BRIEFING.md` + `/briefing.html`
- Optional-model contract: `docs/OPTIONAL_MODEL.md`
- Wrap kit: `docs/ADOPT.md`, `wrappers/system-prompt.txt`, per-model snippets, `wrappers/local-shim/rathor_wrap.py` (JSON + SSE, operator-held keys)
- Public / operator voice split: HOLD lines stay in operator docs; they do not print on the site
- Claim lock and employ lock tests as merge hygiene
- Living license stamp AG-SML v1.1

That is enough delta to justify a **cover version**. It is not enough delta to justify rewriting v4.1’s architecture body in one seat.

## Honest gaps (unchanged)

No measured METR numbers. No cert filing. The 31 August 2026 work pack is a draft. Combined AGSi remains SURMISE. Site chrome translations are not sold as complete offline packs.
